Workshop Overview

The University of Alabama's Crimson Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is designed for individuals and their organizations seeking to improve their overall operational and financial performance by minimizing waste and improving customer satisfaction. This course is delivered in a blended  learning format which enables you to master the material with a minimum amount of travel and in-person class time. 

During the course term, you will propose and receive instructor approval of a real work application project to be worked through to completion.  Additionally, you will interact with instructors and other students in your class through Blackboard Collaborate study halls and private coaching sessions. Your learning experience will culminate with a highly interactive, dynamic, face-to-face session at the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus. This session includes an experiential simulation event and practice test. The final exam will be administered online at the end of the course term.

Course includes Engine Room (ER) software with no additional fee. Participants may also use EXCEL SPC software which must be purchased separately.

Dianna L. Rockett, MBA, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, is a business management consultant with Point B, a firm specializing in process improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodology. She is a consultant and senior management leader with over 30 years of experience working in industry, whose expertise in understanding and managing the dynamics of change has saved companies millions of dollars. Rockett is skilled at applying Six Sigma and Total Quality Management principles to corporate process improvement initiatives and meeting facilitation, interventions, project management, team participation, strategic planning, training development, and delivery. Rockett holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is a Cum Laude graduate of UAB in Business Management and a member of both the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society.

Sullivan, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and Certified Lean Master, with Point B, is a results driven senior leader with diversified experience in management, operations and training, across multiple industries including financial services, insurance, health, retail and telecommunications. Mike has proven ability to influence decisions and improve processes both as a business leader and as a Six-Sigma/Lean professional. He has extensive experience in problem identification and prioritization, process streamlining, elimination of defects, and solving problems with root cause analysis and training/mentoring and capability transfer. Mike thrives working with and leading teams/departments/organizations/executives in identifying the most critical issues and developing appropriate solutions for significant business impact
